B ringing Hope to Babrru Babrru is one of the largest districts in Tirana, home to approximately 42,000 people. Many families in this area migrated from northern Albania in the 1990s, seeking a better future. However, poverty, unemployment, and deep-rooted social challenges continue to affect their daily lives. At Gospel of Christ Church, we are committed to making a difference in this community by addressing urgent needs and offering hope, support, and transformation. The main challenges in Babrru are: 80% unemployment rate, leaving many families without stable income; Lack of education and high school dropout rates; Extreme poverty, particularly among families involved in blood feuds; Abandoned elderly, orphans, and widows struggling to survive, Homelessness and unsafe living conditions; Children at risk, including those from the Roma community; A rise in teenage drug use, robbery, and incarceration. Through our work, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and despair by providing: Education support to keep children in school; Food, clothing, and essential supplies for struggling families Safe spaces and mentorship programs to protect children from exploitation Spiritual and emotional support to help families rebuild their lives

For this reason, after many years of investment through evangelism and social help, Gospel of Christ church started the church plant in Babrru. A team of around 12 believers from our mother church in Tirana is ministering the Word of God in the area of Babrru. We are evangelizing and disciplining believers. Home-groups are established in the homes of believers in the area after sharing the Good News on regular bases. 

Many teenagers are participating our regular meetings every week. We are studying the Bible together with them. They are transformed by the power of God. Different activities are organized and we have established relationships with them. Children ministry is such a blessing. They are participating  the regular meetings and love to sing and dance.

ABOUT THE MINISTRY

Since many families in Babrru live in extreme poverty, we have been providing food packages, clothing, blankets, and other essential supplies to support them. This act of kindness has opened doors for us to build relationships and share the Gospel with new families. Over the years, we have witnessed God’s powerful work, bringing hope, healing, and transformation to countless lives through our ministry in Babrru.

Every month, we hold a special gathering for the women in the community. Women of all ages eagerly participate in these regular meetings, finding encouragement, fellowship, and spiritual growth. They are excited to come together and deepen their understanding of God’s Word as we share the love of Christ and teach Bible stories. On Women’s Day, around 40 women from the area join our team for a special gathering, where they hear a message of hope from the Bible. We praise God for His mighty power at work in their lives!
The Men’s Ministry is making a significant impact in the community. Over the years, we have built strong relationships, and many men now attend our meetings regularly. Their hearts are becoming more open to learning about God and Jesus, and we see a growing desire for spiritual transformation. To strengthen these connections, we have organized various activities, including fellowship gatherings and Christian movie nights, creating opportunities for meaningful discussions and personal growth. We firmly believe that God has begun a powerful work in their hearts, and we eagerly look forward to seeing His plan unfold in their lives!
